Hey Jim, I was just at the Black Rhino Bistro website and I saw a welcome to geocachers. Is that something you and the family do? I ask because its something I've been doing for a few years with my son. Last week was the first time we have ever run across anyone at a cache at the same time we found it. Pretty cool.

LOL...yeah, just one more thing chalked up in the 'hobby' category for the Rhino Gang. Though we haven't been very active since getting serious with barbeque, we keep threatening to get back out there and hunt up a few caches.

Chuck (Cast & Que) here on the forum has done A LOT more caching than I have...he's found a bunch of caches across several states.

How in the world did you find the Black Rhino Bistro site?? That's a franchise concept I developed a few years ago.

Carpe 'Que,
Jim Rhino

P.S. Here's a link to a little site I put up to track our GeoCaching Adventures... http://www.GoSalem.com/rhinogang

geocaching is a lot of fun. We haven't been much in the last year and half. but I know we have over 100 finds. We have meet some really nice people while out geocaching.

What sort of GPS do you use?

We have 2 garmin units. A GPS60CX and a old garmin Emap.

2 units here...both older. One Garmin StreetPilot III; one Garmin V handheld. Both not used as much as they should be used.

I was on your Bandit BBQ site and was looking at your calender and saw a link for Badak, I clicked on that and eventually saw the Black Rhino. When I'm working nights, I get bored and start surfing the net for BBQ. It takes me many places.

I have 3 basic Garmin Etrexs' so each of my kids can have one and then I have an Etrex Vista. I used to have a Magellan, but it got stolen a couple of months ago. I started using the kids Etrex and liked the simple layout and that Geocaching.com would download the waypoint to the GPS with a simple click, so when I replaced my GPS last month, I bought myself the Vista. I've been real happy with it so far.

if you have not looked into becoming a premium member at geocaching.com it lets you do awesome pocket queries. Then they send you a gpx file that you can bring into geocaching swiss army knife, and sort and filter the info even more.
